The Problem
In the day and age of AI, internet, dropshipping, scams, etc. it’s very very tricky to stand out as a legitimate business. A lot of the younger guys are thus stuck on trying to find the next big or super unique thing, and while that’s nice and cool, what about every other form of business that’s been done before and continues to be done even as we speak? Do you really need to be the next Zuck, Musk, what have you? Well, a lot of people still run print houses, grocery shops, generic clothing stores, as well as services such as plumbing, electricians, translation, etc. GENERIC stuff right?
The thing is, with AI, a lot of this stuff has become extremely difficult to filter through. I’ll speak from our work experience, while a lot of businesses are running towards AI, we see few trying to stand out from that noise and do something unique. In our case, we’ve had companies try and go for real life videography with the hopes to actually show that they are REAL. That’s right, the bare minimum now is to prove you’re not an AI generated scam business.
Since everyone can mockup all kinds of products and websites, it’s really the begging question: should you trust whatever business’s website you’re on? Are they real? How do you know? While you can fake a lot of things with AI, keep in mind people are more attentive when their money’s on the line.

Allergic to excuses, but excuses to use AI. How can you trust this photo to even give you a remote idea on the fit of the t-shirt? The t-shirt is fake, the model is fake, the city is fake.
What’s the solution?
So here are our two cents on how to increase your brand perception:
- have as much real life photos and videos of your product or about your services as possible
- use as few stock footage/images as possible, or only use those were it doesn’t relate to your product/services directly
- don’t use AI for product photos or models. it’s obvious. I checked a website on r/dropshipping and before I had to look for details, the models looked obnoxiously good looking. My brain immediately thought “no way he could hire this class of models as a brand new business”. Looking at it closer, it was obvious it’s AI generated photos. So the actual shirts for sale weren’t even REAL in the photos. The problem with AI is that it’s never done on a very subtle level, it’s always “balls to the wall” type deal and it’s not speaking nicely of your business. If anything it only exaggerates how totally “out of touch” you may be with your customers.
- tell your brand story. In the world where the human element is constantly diminishing, going faceless is only shooting yourself in the foot. Even while I’m writing this, the sidebar has a rule that says “1. Remember the human”
- Don’t let your business drown on quickly whipped together AI generated crap.
That’s all I can think of right, feel free to ask anything or just bring in your thoughts! What do you guys think is gonna happen with all these possibilities but also changing landscapes?
